FINALLY! True Coupon Savings

Okay, so I have been clipping my coupons, buying on sale, following the blogs... but I never felt like I was really as good as the ladies online or even my sisters and mom were. But this week, finally success! I spent $14.92 in two transactions at Albertsons in what should have cost me $52.89. That is a savings of $37.97. I didn't have time to take a picture of what I bought because I had to get back to work, but here is the break down:

Ritz Crackers $2.49 (-$1 off coupon plus another $1 with my doubler)
Jet Puff Marshmellows ($1), Hershey Chocolate ($3) and Graham Crackers ($2.49) (-$3 instant savings, -$1 off coupon, -$1 doubler)
$1 Colgate toothpaste
Total transaction=$3.27

Sweet Baby Ray BBQUE Sauce $1 (I already used my coupon for this or it could have been free!)
3 Kraft Salad Dressings $1.50 each (-$1.50 coupon, -$1.00 coupon, -$1.00 doubler)
Wheat Thins$1.47 (-$1.00 coupon, -$1.00 doubler)
Skintimate Shaving Gel $1.50 (I already used my coupon for this as well or it would have been $0.50)
Chicken Breast 1.88 pound
Hamburger 1.88 pound
Hot Dogs buy one get one free $5.49 for one and then -$1.00 coupon and -$1.00 doubler
Total Transaction $11.65

I love the taste of sweet savings in my mouth and can't wait to get more incredible deals! Thanks to all the internet mom's who inspire me!

The Garden

LJ really wanted to plant a garden this year. He started in March growing seeds in the house, tore out the pond, planted the sprouts, and this is what exists so far. I must confess he has done much more work than I have. I helped weed on Monday. I am dedicating myself to being more helpful and ensuring that our vegetables grow and thrive. Monday I helped Mom plant her garden and last Saturday we helped Grandma Bonnie help hers as well. I have actually liked it a little bit, even though I despise yard work. Maybe this will help me overcome my negative feelings? Grow little plants, GROW!

Life Milestone

LJ bought the Infiniti right after he got home from his mission. It is a 1996, so it is 13 years old. It has been a great car. Driving home from Nampa last night, it reached an important milestone. The Infiniti has 200,000 miles on it. Now, let's pray that it continues to be a great car, despite reaching such a lofty age!
