Goodbye South Junior High

This will be my 5th year at South Junior High, but the 1st year in a brand new building. The old South Junior High is being demolished this summer to make way for our new parking lot, tennis courts, and football field. Our new school has been built over the last 18 months where our old field used to sit. I am exstatic to teach in a brand new building!! I have watched them tear the building down throughout the summer. These were taken on Monday, August 17th and Tuesday, August 18th. Thank you for serving the community well South and here's to many new memories in a new building.

My old classroom in the daylight- room 215. My door is on the left and that was my bulletin board and white board area on the hall side of my classroom.

Western Idaho Fair

Monday night we went to the Western Idaho Fair with the Overall Clan. It was family day there, so no alcohol or smoking allowed. We walked through the Expo and everyone else ate lots of food. I took some bites of my former favorite foods from last year and I was thoroughly grossed out. I felt like my mouth was full of grease. I didn't eat much this year. Things just don't taste as good as they used to and the calories aren't worth it. The fair was fun though. I did miss getting to see the animals. My favorite part of the fair are the animals, but all of LJ's brothers are allergic to animals, so the barn is avoided. It was a fun night anyway!!

Rick and LJ with the funnel cakes! They talk about eating these things all summer long!!!

High School Buddies

Wednesday I went to lunch with my high school friends, Lori and Emily. Emily lives in Arkansas and so I only get to see her a couple times a year. Each time she comes to town the three of us get together and have a good old time. We ate lunch at Old Chicago downtown and of course took pictures together. I love these two girls!!!

Boise Hawks Baseball Game

Monday, August 11th we went to the Boise Hawks Minor League Baseball Game for the 3rd time this summer. LJ's brother's company has box seats and we get to use them occassionally (thanks Jayson!!) and we had a great time!! One of the between inning contests is a SPUD race between a fry, spud, and a gem and Kris, Jake, and Tayson got picked from the crowd to do the race. It was tons of fun to watch. And the game wasn't too bad either even though the Hawks lost.

August 1-3 was our annual BEA Exec Board Retreat at Pinnacle Peaks lodge in beautiful Atlanta, Idaho. The resort is phenomenal with 5 star service. We always get lots of work and play done in this peaceful place. We got our whole year planned, reconnected as a group, and had tons of fun!!! I love it!!
